Tay Do restaurant Three and a half chilli rated

Three and a half chilli rated

We normally provide a link to another site, but this is newly opened and I can't find it mentioned anywhere else online.
60-64 Kingsland Road, London E2

Excitedly we thought that this was somehow related to its legendary namesake on the same street, but it became quickly apparent that it isn't. An obvious attempt at cashing in on the Kingsland road success story the soup here is good but not great. On most other London streets you'd get away with it, but on the kingsland road, this place will never stand out.

Good for: Service was very friendly.
Bad for: It's a bring your own - though some people like this as it is cheap.

178 Victoria Park Road, London, E9 7HD

A restaurant rather than a cafe, with a good amount of consideration given to the decor. Very spicy, but rather one dimensional stock. No accompanying herbs - some had been pre-added, but not nearly enough.

Good for: The decor is impressive, and the terrace would be very pleasent in the summer.
Bad for: No herbs!

You are now an ordained minister

Filed under: Misc - by Darren Ferguson @ 6:50 PM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is to confirm that
DARREN FERGUSON
LONDON UK NW3 6AG UK
has been ordained as a minister of the Universal Life Church, Modesto, California.
Date of Ordination: 10/18/2006
by Kevin Andrews, Pastor
www.ulc.net
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Your request for ordination has been processed, and you are now an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church in Modesto, California! Please record the above date of ordination for your records, as you may need this information in the future to fill out the various forms of the clergy. If you were ordained previously, the above date will constitute a valid date upon which you were RE-ordained. Ordination is for life, without price, and without question of your specific beliefs. You do not need to pay any tithe, donation, or offering of any kind, now or in the future.

Ordinations are individually reviewed and forwarded to Universal Life Church International Headquarters in Modesto, California, where it will be recorded in the permanent church records.

As a minister, you are authorized by the church to perform the rites and ceremonies of the church (except circumcision), including weddings, funerals, baptisms and blessings, subject to the laws of your country, state, or locality. Prior to conducting any civil ceremony (such as marriages), you should know and comply with the laws pertaining to your area of jurisdiction.

You are entitled to all privileges and courtesies normally offered to members of the clergy.

Your commitment is to always do the right thing. It is your responsibility to peacefully and sincerely determine the right course of action, and to avoid infringing on the rights of others. You alone are responsible for your actions as a minister.

If you have not already done so, you may subscribe to our ULC Newsletter online at http://subscribe.ulc.net

We have an online discussion forum where ULC ministers meet to engage in fun and interesting communication. You are welcome to join in. You'll find it at http://forum.ulc.net

You may also choose to have yourself listed in our online directory. Please note that only those who have asked to be listed in the directory are included (not all ministers). The directory enables ULC folks to find one another, and is also a useful resource for people looking for a ULC minister in their area to perform ministerial services. You will find directory at http://ulc.net/directory

We value and protect your privacy. Your name and other information will not be made public on any listing unless you specifically ask to be listed this way. Also, we will never furnish your information to an outside agency, or allow it to be used for any unrelated purpose.

It is not a piece of paper which makes you a minister. However, many people wish to have a certificate, wallet card, or other record of their status as a minister. Such items are particularly useful to those who wish to perform marriages. It can serve to reassure the bride and groom (or their parents!) of the legality of the marriage.

Many ministers like to provide the couple with an authentic Universal Life Church Marriage Certificate for them to include among their wedding keepsakes. Others just want to have a professionally printed certificate as a permanent record of their ordination. With this in mind, we offer an assortment of Clergy Packages to help you get started quickly and easily in your ministry. These packages contain various documents, literature, and helps for various situations. Details on the contents of these packages follows at the end of this message. Please understand however, that you are not required or expected to purchase anything, and these items are not necessary for you to have an effective and meaningful ministry.

To order one of these packages visit our web site:

http://ulc.net/shop

You may order using check or credit card online for quick delivery. You may use our online shopping cart to prepare your order, even if you prefer to mail your payment. At "checkout" you will have the option to print your order ready to mail. Or just write down your order number if you don't have a printer.

Send all mail orders to:

Universal Life Bookstore
PO Box 2039
Citrus Heights CA 95611-2039

Best wishes in your ministry!

With warm regards,

Kevin Andrews, Senior Pastor

Important Umbraco backup information

Filed under: Umbraco, Umbraco Backup - by Darren Ferguson @ 6:16 PM

As a result of user feedback, it seems that a few people are having an issue with failed backups as a result of using a backup target directory under your web root. This is because Umbraco backup tries to backup it's own target zip file, causing some process conflicts.

This issue will be fixed with the release of 1.1, however, unless you have to, Do not backup under the webroot.

Google and other search engines can index zip files and their contents. One user has already made me aware of some Umbraco blogs that have zipped versions of their site that have been indexed and you are able to see the contents of web.config including database host and password details.

If you are in the unfortunate position of having an ISP who will not let you write anywhere other than your webroot, 1.1 is coming soon, but please note that you should download your backups from your server and remove them from the web root upon completion.

We were the only non-Vietnamese in this place. They didn't have a menu and it took a while to communicate what we wanted to eat. Thankfully, the (non hue style) dish arrived and was good. We almost felt that it should be better considering the authenticity of the place.

Good for: The real deal, all Vietnamese customers.
Bad for: Smoky, seems compulsive to smoke while eating here.

Umbraco Backup 1.1 planned

Filed under: Umbraco Backup - by Darren Ferguson @ 9:24 AM

I am planning to work on a 1.1 release of Umbraco backup this weekend to incorporate a couple of extra features that have been requested by users.

The additional functionality will be:

  • Remember settings from the last backup
  • Test FTP connection before starting backup
  • View/Remove previous backups from the server
  • Allow deletion of backups from the server after successful FTP

I will also be removing the need to register and generate a trial license before you download. I've noticed that more than half of people who register for a trial give up before generating a license. I'm guessing that many more have given up before registration.

The evaluation period will be extended to 30 days.

There have been more suggestions, a lot of which will go into 2.0. But unfortunately, the time I have at the moment is very limited, so I can't speculate as to when 2.0 will be available.

Our marathon weekend of consumption was rescued by Cay Tre. There is nothing really noteworthy about the place, but who cares when the Hue style noodle soups is so good in terms of freshness, flavour and quantity. Almost a rival to the Tay Do.

Good for: Blissful, wonderful food.
Bad for: I am nit-picking, but they forgot my order.

Very different stock than we are used to. We may be wrong, but it was almost as though the stock was instant, very one dimensional in terms of flavour. The noodles were also very thin which we'd never seen before. Overall, adequate, but no more.

Good for: Friendly staff.
Bad for: No daytime opening on the weekends.
