Umbraco file upload with progress bar

Filed under: Umbraco - by Darren Ferguson @ 10:58 AM

I have created an Umbraco datatype that enhances the standard upload type, so that you get a progress bar and cancel button.

Download it here

I’d very much appreciate it if any of you running dev Umbraco instances would road test this for me and let me know of any bugs, issues, feature requests.

Note: This control streams the file to a temporary folder during upload rather than storing the whole post request in memory.

Darren... the upload with progres is great, however, on 2.1.6 using the upload with progres appears to create some issues for linking to media items with the richText editor... even if the items were not uploaded with large file upload, the editor only gets the mediaID not the path... if i switch back to using the standard upload component, linking is fine... once again, without even uploading any files.

    any thoughts?
